Outfitting, outfitting , fitting out the interior!

The major outfitting of the interior is complete, the built in night stand is built!

The Rear Gaucho Couch/Bed is complete. The bed is now a true full size as opposed to a 3/4.

I didn't like the original legs that Shasta used in 1961 so I redid them using the leg style from a mid-century Modern Heywood Wakefield coffee table. I love the taper and the way they flow into the skirt board.

Hello and Welcome to my blog. This is an online journey of a beat up and down 1961 Shasta Astrodome, a trailer that had been around the block, state and country once or twice. We bought the Astrodome in January from it's second owner. The trailer has been in Colorado all it's life and it spent almost it's entire life in a small farming town outside of Colorado Springs called Peyton. I happened across an ad for it on Craiglist. It was located in the very rural Mountain town of Blackhawk, that's where we found it, rescued it and are now saving it. The second owner got it in trade and although he used it, it was seriously neglected and had some major water damage, rodent infestation and rot as is the case with most vintage trailers.
