I can see the light

The Trailer inches closer everyday. I have all the window and the missing glass installed. I only have to install the main door and in its winter ready.

I also installed the Fantastik-Fan, I chose the gray trim since it looked the most like the original aluminum silver.

The Rebuild of a 1961 Shasta Astrodome into a 1961 Shasta Airflyte

Hello and Welcome to my blog. This is an online journey of a beat up and down 1961 Shasta Astrodome, a trailer that had been around the block, state and country once or twice. We bought the Astrodome in January from it's second owner. The trailer has been in Colorado all it's life and it spent almost it's entire life in a small farming town outside of Colorado Springs called Peyton. I happened across an ad for it on Craiglist. It was located in the very rural Mountain town of Blackhawk, that's where we found it, rescued it and are now saving it. The second owner got it in trade and although he used it, it was seriously neglected and had some major water damage, rodent infestation and rot as is the case with most vintage trailers.
