Rocking the Rock Guard!

Built the rock guard this weekend, when we bought the trailer every single pane of glass in the front window was either chipped or broken. This also provides a rain shield so you can keep the front windows open when it rains, Sun shade that helps the curtains and cushions from fading.

It didn't turn out to bad considering I had never actually seen one in real life.

You did soooo good .
It is the exact Shasta in the advert. at the top right ...I can see were it had a rail for this type of shade . It is all original otherwise .

i'm trying to do the same thing for my 71 shasta starflyte. where did you find the metal for the rockguard?

The Rebuild of a 1961 Shasta Astrodome into a 1961 Shasta Airflyte

Hello and Welcome to my blog. This is an online journey of a beat up and down 1961 Shasta Astrodome, a trailer that had been around the block, state and country once or twice. We bought the Astrodome in January from it's second owner. The trailer has been in Colorado all it's life and it spent almost it's entire life in a small farming town outside of Colorado Springs called Peyton. I happened across an ad for it on Craiglist. It was located in the very rural Mountain town of Blackhawk, that's where we found it, rescued it and are now saving it. The second owner got it in trade and although he used it, it was seriously neglected and had some major water damage, rodent infestation and rot as is the case with most vintage trailers.
